I feel that that capitalism has a distinct relationship with the Mexican. The identity of Mexicans is often defined through the struggles that they must overcome. The Serape and the Sombrero are somewhat ceremonial and stands for a cultural Identity of ritual. The question here is, what are the transformations that the character above might have to undergo in a foreign place. The man above is free from the grasp of the machine that Octavio Paz describes in his book. The rituals and customs that he might have taken part of, are you unique to his home. There is a dichotomy between the character who is invested in ritual and the world he crosses over to driven by time and money.
