Anhelo means to yearn for something. For me, I have always yearned to understand more about my heritage. These codex are calandar symbols specific to my birthday. I don't feel as if I have a connection to them in the sense that the images come from a foreign culture, however they are inherently linked to me. What I yearn for is a better understanding of my past. I also yearn to be more connected to my own cultural background. Sometimes people don't think I speak Spanish, but I look Latino.
